Help I inherited a House 10 months before I’m released from bankruptcy?

My spouse inherited in NC a house from his mother, It is co/owned by his cousin. There is a life time survivor ship clause for his Aunt on it and the estate is not settled yet, (not enough will be left to pay the house off, that we know.) We are 10 Months from being released from Chpt.13, and have missed small bills because he had to stop work last year when his mother was first diagnosed with cancer (He’s just going back to work this month). No one can take over the mortgage, and we can’t pay for two houses (still living with my parents since this started last year, and we moved back in state to help his mom.) What are our options?

if the “inherited” house has a mortgage, there is nothing really to inherit probably – the mortgage has to be paid off by her estate or someone is going to have to refinance

and survivorship clauses mean nothing if the house is not owned free and clear of loans and liens

I would refuse the inheritance if there is any loan attached to it – that’s more of a curse than a gift
