If you spent 12 years in the MSC made a lot more money than the average military person could have made at this time. Although the benefits are not as good as the military, they are still decent. You get all the government benefits such as the TSP. I drove for MSC and may go back to it one day, with the exception of the terrible leave policy, it is probably the best deal in the U.S. fleet. Sorry for your troubles. SIU is only part of the unlicensed staff working conditions for certain shipping companies. MSC is a non-union, federal agency for work.
