What should my friend or do you expect from the bankruptcy court?

He owes about 15, 000 at three different collectors account. One of them only sent him a summons to say that it the problem within 20 days of address. He has not a penny more than necessary to pay bills and eat. He is in the U.S. state Massachusetts Boston to be exact, and he was unemployed for three years, but has been employed for the last few years. Should he try to get a lawyer right away? Thanks for any help you can give. I would add that he observed a single man in his early 50s and has no children.

If he a lawyer, he has to pay for their services. You said he did not have a penny in my pocket, what is attorney take him as a client. In court, he has to explain that everything that is worth liquidating too. I mean, everything and anything in his name. If the court is satisfied with his statement then, he is a judge in bankruptcy, and he does not have anyone except of course to pay his rent to the landlord.
