Kansas bankruptcy question?

I live in Kansas and about 2 and half years ago we filed a chapter 13 bankruptcy. However we are thinking about switching to a 7, and I was wondering can I keep both cars? If not can we pay one off (we owe about 1500) and then file a 7 and keep the other? We really need two means of transportation me for school and the other for my husband.

Please I dont need any smart a$$ comments. Yes I am broke, I dont need anyone to remind me.

Thank you!
btw I rent and really dont own anything besides my vehilces that are worth anything.

Contact the attorney that is handling your chapter 13, they are your attorney throughout the chapter 13 plan. You should be able to convert the case over to a 7 if you have a loss of income. You may be able to keep the vehicle once you convert to the chapter 7, if you can. To convert to the chapter 7 you’ll need the legal advice and a small amount of money to convert, usually in the 200.00 range. They just don’t convert because you want to, there needs to be a reason behind it, medical, loss of income, etc. You can review other information as well at www.usbankruptcy.gov to find out more questions regarding bankruptcy. Good Luck!
