chapter 13 bankruptcy attorney fees
Why did GMAC charge me $ 300 in fees after my bankruptcy?

I put chapter 13 bankruptcy in November 2008. I have my billing for GMAC Mortgage February 2009 and there was an additional $ 300 phone bill under "Other Fees and Charges". I was told by GMAC, when I called, they do not discuss these fees with me and I would have to call her lawyer. I called her attorney twice, and e-mail once without callbacks or e-mail. Does anyone have any Experience with GMAC, and how they got answers from them? These fees would have nothing to do with the fact that I do filed Chapter 13? I feel this Charges are unfair, since my chapter 13 payment plan stated very clearly that I have on my mortgage to continue with the original mortgage contract. Who is correct? Please let me know.

They are probably correct. See you filed for bankruptcy, the charges are probably legal fees to have a lawyer review Your credit with them and your right to filing for bankruptcy. Agreed even if you continue to pay the loan as before, they do not have with someone legal advice that handles bankruptcies. So, they probably do not need to give you an explaination, but it sounds to me like someone had a legal consult Their case. Good Luck!
