bankruptcy rule 2004

bankruptcy rule 2004
I have bad credit card debt. Will this allow me after 7 years?

When my husband and I first married, we broke up my credit cards. It is Now, 2 children and 3 years later. So far we have paid everything since 2004. I have over 30,000 on credit cards. More than we can afford. If this case is only my Credit, owed the money? or just the negative comments? I waited and did not discuss pay or filing bankruptcy. Basicalymy only options. Does anyone know how this works? Thank you know, or the rules on this? You so much! Beverly

There are 2 deadlines, you need to know if it will bring back the debt as barred. There is a statute of limitations for collecting debts, which may vary by country. (the first link I posted shows this by the state), and the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), which has a 7 ½ limitation period that commences on the date the invoice is for delinquents. Right now, you're about halfway through the federal law, and depending on what state you live, could be the statutes for the collection of the debt, or nearly expired. If that happens to be the case, then you may be able to either stop wait it out, or to negotiate, you pay him for much less than you owe, which I can strongly suggest.
