Filed bankruptcy, but continue paying the car loan?

A friend filed Chapter 7 in 2005 and told the lawyer that he wanted his car and pay more to keep it up. The lawyer does not mention corroboration. In fact, first he heard the word was in 2006 when the Car Company, said he is not a Reaffirming file he wants with his payment obligations on schedule. He never missed a payment before, during or after the bankruptcy. In fact, he refinanced with the company in August 2008 and is current.
