How hard (or impossible) is it to rent an apartment after breaking a lease and filing chapter 13?
Broke lease in Houston 3.5 years ago, moved to Memphis. Filed Bankruptcy 1.5 years ago. Living with parent.
Hard, but not impossible.
Can you leave a large deposit? If you can, it may be enough to put the landlord at ease about renting you a place. Otherwise, it will be very difficult as they will risk not being paid.
