bankruptcy advice australia

I’d like to move to Australia in the future with my husband ,

my husband is Australian and id like to move back with him, but i have a bad credit history here in the UK due to a relationship break down from my past, will this affect me getting in ? ive even considered bankruptcy to solve this but im worried it may affect us moving to auss. advice much appreciated.
we got married in april this year and we’d like to move back to auss in approx 5 yrs, but due to this debt we may have to wait longer but i feel that our relationship is suffering because i feel guilty with this debt from a previous relationship, i was left with the lot unfortunately, i just want a new fresh start with my new husband. not sure wot 2 do

Do NOT declare yourself bankrupt.

Immigration are not interested in normal debts. From memory I do not think they even ask. However, bankruptcy may be a problem.
